Basement Cabinets

I spent some more time today and was able to finish the installation of the basement cabinets. We just need to go find the counter top next. The mini-fridge will slide in on the right side of the photo and the countertop will extend over the top of it. Posted by Picasa

Winter Storm 2006!!!

I returned home from San Diego tonight to about 2 inches of snow at home.

The drive from the airport wasn't too bad. Right around the airport the roads were pretty slick, as were the streets around the house, but everything in between was fine.

Our plane was hit by lightning (or perhapse some sort of static discharge...) as we were on final approach into Sea-Tac. That was a tense few moments wondering what the "H-E-double hockey sticks" had happened. The pilots didn't say anything on the PA, so I assume everything was fine. Anyway, We landed in the midst of a driving snow storm without incedent.

Kirstin and Nathan return home tomorrow evening. More photos soon of the Thanksgiving trip. Posted by Picasa

The Handymen

We spent some time building cabinets for the basement that we got at Ikea. Nathan helped me for a bit.

The assembly was pretty straight forward, but we took some time to try to figure out how to trim it so it would look nice and finished.

The upper cabinets Came out pretty good.

Now on to the base cabinets.

We have a 15" wide and a 30" wide base cabinet and there will be space for the little fridge that we have.

Halloween Costumes: Costumes at the Zoo

Woodland Park Zoo has an anual Halloween event where they feed big pumpkins to the Hippos. Kids wear their costumes and can watch the Hippos devour the pumpkins. We went to the zoo with Aurora (playing the role of Tigger) and Chris as well as Liam (Big White Bunny) and his parents. Here are a few photos.

Haloween Costumes: 2nd Try

He seemed to prefer the Buzzy Bee over the Hunny Pot...Nathan's buddy and neighbor Aurora went as Blues Clues. Here are a couple of photos.

Halloween Costumes: #1

A few days before Halloween we dug into the closet to see what costumes were on hand.
This was our first try. The photo indicates that he wasn't too impressed, but he actually liked the costume.
